You can now officially wear ChatGPT - Introducing Humane's AI Pin , Silicon Valley's biggest Sci-Fi Bet

The AI pin does a lot of smartphone things , but looks nothing like a smartphone !

After months of demo and hints about what AI-powered future gadgets might look like , Humane finally launches it's first device : the AI Pin

The device is $699 wearable in two parts : a square device and a battery backpack that magnetically attaches to your clothes. In addition , there's also a $24 monthly subscription which gets you a phone number and data pack.

The AI Pin is powered by a Snapdragon processor - though it is not clear which one , and you can control it with a combination of voice control, a camera , gestures and a small in-built projector .

What Humane is trying to do is essentially strip away the interface from your technology. It won't have homescreen or lots of settings. The idea is you can just talk to or touch the Pin , and say what you want to do or know , and it'll happen automatically.

Humane seems to view the AI Pin as the beginning of a larger project, which is probably correct . It will get better as the underlying models get better . Improved hardware increases user experience over time, but real revolution comes from what you can do with the device. There's a lot of work to do on this front and Humane has apparently started towards it.
